Search Engine Optimisation

"Building a website with High Quality content is all you need to do."

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is not what it used to be. With Search engines constantly updating search algorithums to combat black-hat SEO and illicit practices, it is a constantly changing arena. However, it's not as complicated as you might think. We can help you through the mine field of SEO and get results that actually work - without you spending half your development or advertising budget.

Every site built is fully SEO with the correct use of headings, keywords, descriptions and URLs. All images have "alt" tags and "titles" to help with positioning in image searches - which more and more people are doing.

What happens next is key to improving your site and effectively promoting your content up the ranks of search engine results:

  • Unique, high quality, well written content
  • Well structured content that is easy to find within your site
  • An engaging website that visitors will want to come back to, and more importantly share and talk about
  • Promoting your site on "good", "valuable" sites through posts and articles

With Google still holding on to almost 90% of search traffic, it is important to pay attention to what they are doing (but they are loosing ground to the likes of Bing and Yahoo - amongst others). Matt Cutts currently heads up the webspam and filtering at Google and has a lot to say about what they are doing, but does not give any clues into the actual algorithum they use. Matt has also hinted that SEO is no longer as important in building websites and even goes as far as to say you don't really need to do it anymore! You can find out more over at the Google Webmaster Blog.

What makes the biggest difference (in our humble opinion) is "how" people are accessing information on the internet. Mobile search is increasing year-on-year, which is why your site should look great on mobile devices. Which is where a "responsive" website is key to your success.

Final thought - don't neglect your presence on Social Networks - but be mindful of the type of traffic it brings and how to use them.
